I am so excited high-waist shorts are becoming more and more available because they are just so comfortable and cute to wear! These in particular are cloth material in a neutral striped pattern. I love the paper bag waist with tie sash and wide leg openings – when shorts fit more relaxed, they look more flattering!
For this fun, sunny day look, I paired these Forever 21 shorts with a vintage button down chambray oxford shirt that was my grandmothers, (similar linked) these super comfortable lace up wedges from Vionic, and my favorite summer bamboo clutch! This look is perfect for weekends and brunch! I just love how light and airy this look is and chambray looks amazing with stripes! For final accessories, I am wearing these lightweight mother-of-pearl style earrings from OSOS and my faux tortoise Quay sunnies!
Hey there! Just wanted to share 2 quick spring looks featuring a neutral palette with a pop of print! First up is this overall dress in a gingham print! This piece is only 10$ at Shein, and is such a steal! It’s perfect for spring and looks great with a plain t-shirt, or with a flutter sleeved blouse which is how I have paired it here!
The second look I have styled is with a lightweight maxi dress from Calvin Klein! This dress is so breezy and perfect for the weekend!
I styled both ensembles with the same accessories to show how reusable these pieces are, yet how they can complete so many looks! First is this super luxe and roomy satchel from Vera Bradley. The clean neutral shade makes it the perfect accessory to add to any spring look, and the size is optimal to carry any and all necessities. For shoes I am wearing these comfy tie up espadrille wedges from Vionic. They have an amazing insole and are made with such quality! Again the neutral shade makes these the perfect base to add to any ensemble, and the shoes are perfect to carry you anywhere the day takes you.

One of my favorite pieces of clothing to stroll around town in is a great dress. I guess the reason for this is all you really need is one piece. For me, a great solid color dress can take you far. The reason is, I view them as a blank canvas. With the right fit, and silhouette you can easily transition a dress and “disguise” it to look completely different, based on how you decide to accessorize it.
For some casual spring-to-summer looks, I will be featuring a soft black trapeze dress I picked up at Forever 21, and a comfortable navy popover I received from Armoire Amore. These two dresses are relatively plain in design, but have so much potential for accessorizing!
For the black dress, a great way to keep it casual and easy-going for weekend wear, is pairing it with a tiered metallic and crystal necklace and bright pom pom slip on sandals. These pieces become the focal point of the look. I can easily see myself pairing this dress with ankle booties and a printed scarf on cooler days, or even with a fedora and wedges. By changing the accessories you change the look. Even though it is the same dress, it will appear completely different!
As for the navy dress, I was out and about that day, and needed a large bag to carry all of my belongings in. So I chose a brightly printed tote, and the same pom pom sandals to complete this look. The dress is long-sleeved so no jacket is needed when the day gets breezy, and can easily be pushed up when the temperatures spike. I also paired this look with one of my favorite Luca Love bracelets. Which really added that extra finishing touch.
I definitely see myself sporting this dress in the fall with a blanket scarf and tall boots. It’s just such a great staple piece to own.

I really enjoy a great black and white ensemble, so any chance I can get my hands on a unique piece, I do!
I would like to add that the focal pieces of these looks were purchased from White House Black Market. If you didn’t already know this, everything in the store is black and white, (aside from their season color focus.) Since black and white items are the majority of what they sell, I tend to find myself shopping their locations first when searching for my next black and, or, white piece.
For the first look, I paired this lightweight lace popover top with black skinny jeans, pom pom sneakers, tassel earrings, and cat eye sunglasses. This comfortable, and chic look has so many interesting details and textures, yet nothing is overpowered. That’s what I love about black and white, you can add a subtle pop of color, and mix different textures while still staying chic.
My next look is ideal for the beachside! This beautiful striped maxi dress is stretchy, features a slit on the side, and is perfect for a day out in the sun. I paired it with comfortable sandals, and my favorite oversized floppy hat. For this look, I kept my accessories solid black. This assists in streamlining the look, as the dresses’ striped print is very bold, and the spotlighted feature.
I purchased these pieces from the White House Black Market outlet for under 20$ each! If you have never made it out to one of their outlets, I highly recommend you stop in! They offer very flattering, high quality products ranging from classic tailored work wear, to trendy weekend t-shirts! You never know just what you might find on sale!
One of my favorite color palettes is black and white. The colors are timeless, but the fun part is black and white can be styled so many different ways. There is simply no limit or specific genre the colors fit in, so you can try literally any trend in this palette.
With this ensemble I was inspired by the cold shoulder design on this G by Guess sweater. I wanted to create a black and white look with it that is spring ready but with a touch of edge/grunge so I added G by Guess combat boots! The mix tied together with classic white denim shorts and retro sunglasses perfectly.
The Breakdown!
So this sweater is an excellent piece to add to your spring wardrobe because it is so transitional! I love the think knit, designed for a loose fit so that it is perfect for breezier days. Since the weather has been changing daily here this sweater is also great paired with jeans on cooler days.
The shorts I am wearing are from Old Navy, and my favorite staple spring and summertime shorts. I love the length and rolled cuff accent, not to mention the great stretch fit denim!
For accessories I went all out with a satin choker from Sam Moon, a beautiful Kendra Scott bangle, dainty bar bracelet from French Cuff Boutique, and my favorite macrame bracelets from Luca Love. My clutch is such a cute and versatile piece I picked up at Stage Stores. It is Ivanka Trump brand and comes with a portable phone charger! And lastly, my sunglasses. I picked up these Jessica Simpson Retro inspired shades from Stage Stores and absolutely love them! They pair so well with everything and really add the finishing touch to this look.
If you are looking for a way to try out a new look or style, try it out in black and white! It’s easy to match and for me, feels like less of a risk, yet you get all the rewards of style!
