Blue Dress & Embroidered Heels

As most of you already know, one of my favorite clothing items is a great dress! I love finding solid color dresses that I can re-invent in different ways with accessories. With trends moving as quickly as they do, it is nice to have pieces you can hang on to for more than one season, but that you can change based on the shoes and necklace you style it with. That is why I love classic silhouettes and solids, they are so easy to transition!

This fabulous dress features extended sleeves, an empire waist, front pleating and pockets! The material is heavy enough to hold its shape correctly and lay properly when worn. It is unlined which makes it perfect for the spring and summer seasons, and is offered in pink blue and beige!

I decided to pair this dress with my new favorite embroidered heels from Stage, a chunky bib necklace, and a straw hat from Forever 21. These heels break up the look and add just the right amount of print to the mix. I will admit they are not the most comfortable pair of heels I own, but the beautiful style they offer makes them worth the pain!

This is a wear-anywhere dress had me feeling amazing all day! It’s always a good day when you feel amazing, and how could I not in a dress as adorable as this one?! So if you are looking for a great piece to wear to work, or to church on Sunday this is the perfect piece! Check it out on Groopdealz at an amazing price while it is still available!

Weekend Ready Dresses

One of my favorite pieces of clothing to stroll around town in is a great dress. I guess the reason for this is all you really need is one piece. For me, a great solid color dress can take you far. The reason is, I view them as a blank canvas. With the right fit, and silhouette you can easily transition a dress and “disguise” it to look completely different, based on how you decide to accessorize it.

For some casual spring-to-summer looks, I will be featuring a soft black trapeze dress I picked up at Forever 21, and a comfortable navy popover I received from Armoire Amore. These two dresses are relatively plain in design, but have so much potential for accessorizing!

For the black dress, a great way to keep it casual and easy-going for weekend wear, is pairing it with a tiered metallic and crystal necklace and bright pom pom slip on sandals. These pieces become the focal point of the look. I can easily see myself pairing this dress with ankle booties and a printed scarf on cooler days, or even with a fedora and wedges. By changing the accessories you change the look. Even though it is the same dress, it will appear completely different!

As for the navy dress, I was out and about that day, and needed a large bag to carry all of my belongings in. So I chose a brightly printed tote, and the same pom pom sandals to complete this look. The dress is long-sleeved so no jacket is needed when the day gets breezy, and can easily be pushed up when the temperatures spike. I also paired this look with one of my favorite Luca Love bracelets. Which really added that extra finishing touch.

I definitely see myself sporting this dress in the fall with a blanket scarf and tall boots. It’s just such a great staple piece to own.

Fun Ways to Dress Up White Shorts

Summertime means shorts…well it definitely does if you live in Texas! My favorite shorts to wear are these white rolled cuff denim ones from Old Navy. I just love the fit, length and stretch they offer! But the trick here is…how do you dress them up?

Shorts are super fun to wear, and the keep you cool, but lets face it, they are a casual piece of clothing. But as summer approaches, and the temperatures rise, dressing up gets very difficult and sometimes downright impossible! Which is why I wanted to brainstorm ways to create cute, wearable ensembles incorporating shorts that are chic enough you could brunch, shop, and even socialize in.

That is how I landed on this combination! This lightweight Calvin Klein top is designed in a stretch material, that features a split neck design and roll-tab sleeves. The weight of the material allows the top to hang just right, as the print sets a cooling chic tone. To top off the look, I paired it with stacked bracelets, 50’s inspired sunnies and espadrille wedges. What takes this look from casual, to chic, is the wedges and the design of the top. Adding a modern print, 3/4 length sleeves, and a slightly dressy shoe, completely morphs the ensemble.
