Fast Fashion Featuring Tobi

I love finding great priced fast fashion so that I can embrace every trend without breaking the bank. One of the worst feelings is investing so much in a piece that no longer is in style! Tobi is an awesome company to purchase these types of pieces without skimping on the quality! – A dream come true! They offer current trends at a very reasonable price point, and you receive exactly what is pictured on site. I’m going to show you how I styled three pieces from them, and my thoughts on each, enjoy!

Reptile Print Skirt

This is my favorite piece! This material is lightweight and moves beautifully! I styled this skirt with an elbow length turtleneck and OTK boots. The black really brings out the print of the skirt and makes it the focal point of the look. Since I have light hair I went dark with my top and boots, but would recommend pairing with a tan turtleneck and nude OTK boots if you have dark hair. The contrast looks beautiful! This look is perfect for work, weekends, or pretty much any activity you have planned this fall and the skirt is at such an amazing price, it makes no sense not to order it! Since the closure on this piece is a side zipper, I decided to size up and get a Large but the skirt fits true to size so I could have actually worn a Medium.

White Dress

Since this is a bodycon dress I decided to size up on it as well, and am glad I did! It is very short and the material is pretty thin. There is a lining, so with a slip the dress is perfect. I styled it with a black fuzzy shawl from Express and nude heels I ordered from Hautelook. This is the perfect evening out ensemble. I love the bar detailing at the shoulders! It adds such a special touch, and makes the dress so unique.

Back Lace Up Sweater

Seriously the softest, most cozy sweater! This piece is super boxy and oversized, but that is all part of the charm! I ordered this sweater in a size small and it fits perfectly for an oversized look. I would recommend sizing down on this piece. I paired it with a faux suede hat, and dark wash jeans from Mott & Bow for a comfortable weekend look that’s ideal for running all of those last minute holiday errands.

I definitely recommend checking out Tobi for amazingly priced, high-quality fast fashion! They also have great gift options for the holiday season!

Fun Fall Dress Roundup

Hi Friends! So I have rounded up a few of my favorite dresses that I have been wearing on repeat lately and wanted to share! These are all perfect pieces to wear day to night, depending on how you style them, and are super affordable AND comfortable! I would also like to add that they each incorporate my favorite fall trends! From embroidery, velvet, to jewel tones these dresses will cover all of the fall trend bases!

Scallops & Jewel Tones

I stumbled upon this dress at a Nordstrom Rack online sale and just had to get it. Fit and flare dresses are my favorite silhouette because they are so flattering, and the color is what really sold me! I absolutely love the scalloped detailing along the neckline, as it adds additional dimension and interest to the piece. When wearing jewel tones I like to either go much darker or much lighter with my accessories and in this case I chose lighter. This cream faux leather jacket adds edge to this feminine dress, as does the matching booties. You can easily style it with heels and an up-do for a more sophisticated night out look. Best of all, this dress is constructed of a heavy stretch material so you are supported as well as comfortable in this piece! I have linked this dress as well as other jewel tone dresses here!

Mesh & Embroidery

Perfect for warmer days, before it gets really chilly, this dress is just so darling! The collar is such a feminine detail – I definitely feel like a doll when I wear this dress. The intricate floral embroidery brings this dress to life, and I think it will even look great with black tights, booties, and a faux fur coat when the temps drop, so it is easily transitional. Bell Sleeves & Velvet

This dress is by far my favorite find! I actually was shopping at Marshall’s for a PJ set and on my way out spotted this amazing dress. Obviously I had to purchase it and have loved wearing it ever since! From the bell sleeves to the mock neckline, this velvet dress oozes style! Finished with a sapphire blue color and scrolling floral print, this dress is the perfect statement piece! I kept my accessories to a minimum, only pairing some blush strappy heels, my burgundy Coach Dinky, and a tassel chain necklace. If you are loving bell sleeves and velvet, I have linked some of my favorite dresses here!

Hope you enjoyed this dress round up! I’d love to hear what your favorite trend right now is!

Sequins & Fall Capes

In my eyes, a look can go from good to great with just one piece. Sometimes it’s a necklace, shoes, a dress or in this case, a cape! *Not to be confused with a magician, or superhero! Capes are a chic and trendy way to add a layer of warmth, and to make an entrance. This is the first cape I have purchased and I must say it did not disappoint.

A cape is such a dramatic item to don. I selected this particular one because it was not made of thick coat material, but more of a blazer/vest construction. This item is perfect for an evening out, or amping up your transitional gear for fall and winter.

For my first styling with the piece I wanted to add a touch of sparkle, so I paired it with a sequin embellished tank from Express (similar). The hint of shimmer is excellent, and really makes this look special. I selected black skinny jeans and my favorite fall over-the-knee boots by Steve Madden.

For a final touch, I added a classic pair of black sunglasses (similar), my Kate Spade tote (similar) and this gorgeous branch necklace from Fascinating Diamonds. The delicate chain makes the branch appear weightless, such a shimmering and elegant piece of jewelry.

This is the perfect dinner, or evening out look! I cannot wait to start wearing this out and about this season and feel more cape purchases are in my future! I have linked similar capes and complementary pieces, so you can create your own fabulous look!

Military Flare with an Updated Twist

I am in love with all of the military inspired outerwear I have seen on the racks this season! The structure and metallic buttons has always been one of my favorites to wear, so when I came across this XOXO beauty, I knew I had to purchase it! The color and buttons all scream military refinement but the peplum hem adds a touch of flirty feminine fun!

StyleCon Dallas 2017

This year I had the opportunity to attend StyleCon, Dallas! This was the first year StyleCon has been held in Dallas so seeing as I am a Texan, and the drive is just a short 4 hours, Myself, and fellow bloggers Kristine of Kristine’s Kaleidoscope, and Alessandra of AlessandraLaura decided to road trip to Dallas together for the event!

We left Houston Friday evening so that we could be ready for the festivities bright and early Saturday morning. For our accommodations, we stayed across the street from the venue at the Fairmont Dallas. For my review of our stay, click here!

StyleCon is a one day event filled with panelist in the industry, and tons of vendors sharing all about their brands! The opportunity for partnerships, collaborations and making new friends was enormous! Brands like Fit Joy, Boohoo and beGlammed all came prepared with fun interactive booths where you could sample, share, and speak to their products!

As a Style Collective member I was there to see Annie Spano, the founder who would be speaking on a panel during StyleCon. It was so nice to see Annie again since the NYFW party she put together for all of her style collective sisters, and her time on the StyleCon panel was fantastic!

There were plenty of snacks to help ourselves to throughout the day as this event ran from 9:00-5:00 so many thanks to all of the lovely snack vendors who kept our energy up and tummies full through the amazing day!

StyleCon 2017 was amazing, and I can’t wait to attend it again next year!

NYFW Day 1

For my first NYFW I came prepared with a full schedule and I must say it was everything I hoped for and more! If you are a blogger and have been dreaming of attending I strongly advise taking the leap and just doing it! So here we go with day 1! I am going to share my experience in a 5 part series broken down by day, traveling tips and tricks, budgeting and lessons learned so say tuned for those posts!

So my flight was at 6:20am from IAH, which placed me at LGA around 11. With a jam-packed NYFW schedule, and the first event starting around 12, we hit the ground running! First stop was to our hotel to unpack and change, then to the Nolcha Lounge Showroom!

Here I had the opportunity to meet with Ecru New York! I have collaborated with the brand in the past, but loved getting an up-close look at their assortment and fall colors! If you are unfamiliar, Ecru New York is a hair product and makeup company! They have an amazing dry texturizing spray and the most amazing lipsticks!

My outfit of the day was this beautiful tonal plaid dress from Nicole Miller. I paired it with oversized sunglasses, tall faux suede boots from Steve Madden and the elegant Ally crossbody from Elaine Turner. All of which you can shop here!

Following this meeting I popped over to Bryant Park for show photos, then it was off to Pier 59 got the Supima 10th Annual Design Competition! Since we made it over to the piers a bit early we popped into the High Line Hotel patio bar for a drink. I ordered a Frozen Italian Splash which was lemon and delicious!

With a short walk over to Pier 59, I was lined up and ready to enter the show! So this was my very first show to attend and I was so excited it was seriously a blur! The designs were so beautiful and creative I have no idea how the judges were able to decide on a winning line! Following the show there was an excellent after party on the roof top which was a scenic view of the water and gorgeous greenery.

One thing I will say about fashion shows is you usually end up becoming friends with the person sitting next to you! As you all know I am super shy so this aspect was really amazing for me to get to know someone and share this amazing experience with!

So after the Supima show and after party wrapped up we stopping in at a small Italian restaurant for dinner then it was back to the hotel for some much needed rest and recharge for a full day of go-go-go- day two!

Retro Fab Gingham

I love gingham, but find myself rarely purchasing it. Maybe its because its usually just for summer? Maybe its because its normally offered in pastels, not too sure. But when I spotted this black and white embroidered gingham top on Amazon, I had to have it! The colors and sleeve length are perfect for transition to fall, so you can wear it in other seasons…not just the spring and summer!

I decided to pair this look with black skinny jeans and platform wedges, as this blends well with the gingham print, and accessorized with my black sunglasses and red lip ito finish off the retro vibe!

This look is so fun and totally revolves around this amazing top! The material is lightweight, and features elbow length bell sleeves. The floral embroidery is elegant with pops of beautiful reds. I love the fit and shape of the piece which is perfect for a slightly dressier look.

The Perfect Retro Red Lipstick

The lipstick I am wearing is actually YSL Glossy Lip Stain and I must say, this lipstick is wonderful! The formula is hydrating and very buildable. I love the coverage and lasting design!  – Not to mention the gorgeous packaging! I think this shade compliments the look impeccably! Sometimes the smallest of details can make all of the difference!

Vacation Ready With SaraBoo

Since my collaboration with SaraBoo, I seriously cannot stop wearing these pieces! Every item fits beautifully and the quality is really great for the price. This particular piece is a tropical print romper. The material is very thin, perfect for summer and secures with a back zipper and neck tie. Everything about the fit and print screams summer fun! If you are in the market for great vacation wear then look no further than SaraBoo.

I absolutely love the sleeve length and short style of this romper. There are subtle embroidered features and pleat detailing that really make this piece a show stopper. It is a one and done ensemble, where all you need is accessories to finish it off, perfect for packing!

I decided to pair this piece with my signature straw fedora, Baublebar, Elaine Turner, and Kendra Scott gold-tone layering necklaces, this fun orange clutch from Henri Bendel, (similar) and bold mirrored sunnies from Sam Moon.

I wore this ensemble to a fun day of shopping at Silver Street Studios followed by a party at Elaine Turner and was able to stay comfortable and cute all day!

If you are looking for stand out summer garments, especially for travel, check out SaraBoo!

Flowing Wrap Dresses and Early Arrival of Fall Palettes

This summer has been really fun when it comes to color palettes. Traditional fall shades and textures have been re-purposed into summer silhouettes! These shades and designs lend a 70’s feel and I’m loving it!

I picked this gorgeous wrap dress up from Shein.com a fast fashion website featuring the latest trends at amazing prices. This dress was $34.00 and worth every penny. The material is heavy so that it holds its shape accordingly. The faux wrap design is accented perfectly with the sash tie waist and side slit accent. The print is so fun and really makes this piece an eye-catcher! I recently wore this piece to the Pop Shop Houston event at Silver Street Studios and received so many compliments! You can dress this piece up or wear it casual with sandals as I did, the options are limitless!

I purchased this dress in a size M, but definitely think the S would have fit perfectly. The M fits a tad big on me, but it isn’t too bad. I would say order true to size on this piece.
