Summer is here and that means a little less accessories for me. For these warmer months I tend to find everyday pieces and stick to those – only changing out earrings with my looks. With the heat here in Houston, it’s all about the shorts, flowy cotton dresses and oversized sunnies. With that said, I still love to make a statement, even if it is subtle. That’s why I fell for this elegant petite script ring from James Avery. It is one of those simple pieces you can wear everyday, but adds such a special touch to your look! This ring is offered in a wide range of sizes, even small enough to wear as a midi ring! I went with my initial, and chose it for my pinky. I have always wanted a pinky ring with my initial but I didn’t want it to look manly so, when I found this piece on the James Avery website it went right into the cart. This outfit is pretty much my summer weekend wardrobe. High waisted shorts and a flowy cotton top. I went for a classic black and white palette to tie this look together with silver accessories including my double buckle belt. This shows how truly versatile a ring like this can be! I wore it with something extremely casual and it still looks as perfect as it would with an evening dress. This past month I had the opportunity to partner with Yosi Samra for a fall campaign where I was able to try out two styles from their shoe collection and review them. Their fall line in out of this world and I am so excited to share my faves with you! The selections I landed on included the Valentina, in fig suede, and the Vivian in metallic boa.
If you are unfamiliar with Yosi Samra, they are a shoe brand famous for the foldable ballet flat which transitioned into an expanded line of shoes with a split sole. This design makes them super convenient to pack for travel, and incredibly comfortable!
Vivian
Metallics are a huge fall trend this year so I selected the Vivian in this amazing golden tone, platino! I’m also a huge GOT fan so these shoes really appealed to me as they remind me of the Targaryen style with a dragon scale inspired flare! The material is extremely lightweight, yet durable and subtle pointed toe adds the perfect finishing touch. The insole is plush and extremely comfortable and the split sole design keeps your feel flexible and mobile. I have enjoyed styling these with dark jeans and rich caramel, burgundy shades as well as cheetah prints.
Valentina
This is the perfect shoe to slide on and go! The comfortable and luxurious suede construction hugs your foot and the wrap style keeps the shoes securely on your feet. This dark burgundy shade is one of my favorites for the fall season and I love to incorporate it in accessories and lipsticks so, these shoes were the perfect selection for me! Opposite the Vivian, I like to pair these with light wash denim, and golden tones.
I personally love nontraditional flats which makes this brand perfect because they offer such a wide selection of quality made flats in a variety of silhouettes, such as the Vivian and Valentina! But if you have a love for the classics, they offer those as well!

Here I go with transitioning apparel again! Since I live in Texas, we get to wear our shorts a little longer than everyone else! This look is a fun mix of the best of fall and summer all in one!
I created this look with a desire to wear fall colors, but in a comfortable way! To make that happen, I paired my favorite white Old Navy shorts with a maroon turtleneck from Boohoo. The two contrasting pieces come together with the perfect accessories!
Accessories
This elegant statement necklace by Stella and Dot is actually convertible! You have the option to wear it with the long strands or just as a short piece. I personally like to wear the long strands to the back. Its such a cool piece! The necklace is made of beautiful beads in mixed metals with an S hook clasp for easy switch-ability.
I also chose a fun pair of tortoise print sunnies for this look, a faux fur cheetah print belt from Express (similar) and exposed side booties that I purchased at Stage. (Similar)
So even if you are like me and live in a warmer climate, you can start wearing your fave fall colors are embracing the trends with alternative bottoms…shorts! The accessories are all you need to really make the ensemble work!
Since I lightened my hair, I catch myself selecting pastel shades of clothing. I seriously don’t think I used to wear pink nearly as much as I do now! So for this look, I am wearing a light pink top I received from Romwe, and a classic pair of white ankle pants from Jessica Simpson.
Now yes, these two pieces are rather plain but what really makes this ensemble special is the accessories! I added a pop of color and print to the look with this layered Charming Charlie necklace (similar) and these fun slip-ons from Indigo Rd! The shoes are a light blue with a wide white bumper sole and a woven pastel toe cap. These accessories complement the pink and white perfectly and really complete the look!
As for details of the top and pants. This Romwe top was under $10 and is extremely lightweight and flowy. It is perfect for warm weather, and looks great with shorts. I really love the subtle sleeve detailing and boat neckline. Now as I have mentioned before, I do not like to wear white bottoms…it stresses me out! But this pair by Jessica Simpson has really changed my mind! I love the fit, style, and the overall fabric of this pair of bottoms! They are perfect for the summer and have become a staple for me. So as I transition to fall I am going to miss this ensemble but had to share it in the meantime! For a comfortable and cute weekend look, this is a no brainer!
Since my collaboration with SaraBoo, I seriously cannot stop wearing these pieces! Every item fits beautifully and the quality is really great for the price. This particular piece is a tropical print romper. The material is very thin, perfect for summer and secures with a back zipper and neck tie. Everything about the fit and print screams summer fun! So this top has become one of my total favorites! The lightweight chambray highlighted with embroidery and a tie front make this top perfect for this summers’ trends!

Since it gets pretty hot here in Houston, my summertime wardrobe generally consists of shorts. Because of that, I like to find creative ways to spice up my ensemble with sparkling and fun accessories that maybe wouldn’t normally be paired with shorts. Enter this over the top large and in charge statement necklace from Mirina Collections. I had the opportunity to try out their brand and selected two pieces from their collection. This one is by far my favorite! Pairing such an eye catching piece with shorts, and a solid top really changes the feel of the look.
For added fun and sun protection I paired this look with my current favorite grey faux suede hat, and to coordinate with the texture and shade, I am wearing these on-trend mules by Kensie from Stage. This style of shoe is super comfortable and gives any look a little 90’s throwback.
By adding these accessories to my look an otherwise simple top and classic pair of shorts is transformed into a trendy ensemble that demands attention.
What I’m Wearing
The top I have on is from Romwe. I am actually really pleased with the quality of the piece. The design is well crafted and the fit is on point. This top is only available in one size so I am sure it will fit everyone a little differently, but I do like how it fits!
For bottoms, I am wearing high waisted shorts from Shein. These are currently my favorite pair of shorts! They are super flattering and I can pair them perfectly with my cropped shirts for a modestly trendy look.
My top was only $9.99 and the shorts were just $15.00 so if you are on a summer budget, these pieces are definitely worth ordering as they are transitional and can easily pair with other pieces in your wardrobe!
Since things are already starting to heat up here in Houston, I decided a beautiful spring floral dress needed to make an appearance.
This spaghetti strap accordion pleat dress has a gorgeous blue background with a tonal orange floral print. I decided to make it a bit more casual and fun by pairing it with a denim vest, straw fedora, and espadrille wedges.
Seriously you cannot help but feel great in this fun dress! The design is perfect for a sunny day, and the chic midi length makes it ideal for almost any occasion. I purchased this dress in size M to get a more relaxed fit. The waist is elastic so it does have a beautiful silhouette I just prefer the top to not be tight. Going up a size provides a more carefree look, which is what I was aiming for.
