First Impressions: Hilltop Gardens

I am always on the hunt for quality skin care and hair care products, so when Hilltop Gardens reached out to me I had to give them a try!

First of all, they are a Texas based company, which is actually an aloe vera farm, and one of the first in the United States! What interested me in the brand and product line is that they practice sustainable agriculture on the 700+ acre farm, and the products are organic.

Growing up, we always had aloe vera plants potted in the backyard and would snip from it when we had a burn, or sunburn. Little did I know there are so many other uses for aloe vera!

The products I will be reviewing from Hilltop Gardens include:

Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, Ointment, and Eucalyptus Gel.

Packaging: I actually really liked the minimalist style of the packaging and the dark bottles. The product comes in a generous size and amazing price!

Hair Products

I was really quite interested in finding out what aloe vera based products would do for my hair. So some background: my hair is think with a wavy, curly texture and very dry from bleaching. Based on the site, the shampoo is supposed to work at the scalp, calming irritation and itchy, flaky areas. It also states it will assist in growing healthier stronger hair. While the conditioner repairs follicles and prevents further damage. Sounds great, right?

My Thoughts

The shampoo is creamy and lathers well. It left my hair feeling well cleaned and squeaky. I immediately followed up with the conditioner. The texture is dense and almost gel-like. I used a generous amount on my ends and worked up to the scalp. The product absorbed and rinsed out well, leaving my hair extremely silky and untangled. In using this combination for a week straight I have noticed less scalp irritation, and softer hair.

Skin Care Items

I also selected the ointment and gel for after sun exposure and kitchen, hair tool burns, etc. I actually cannot use products like neosporin so natural options always appeal to me for minor skin issues. And since I live near the water, mosquito bites are an often occurrence, so the ointment is the perfect product to come to the rescue of my itchy skin!

I have not had the opportunity to try the ointment out yet, but can say the gel is a great item. it absorbs quickly into the skin and doesn’t leave a sticky residue, just smooth and soothed skin.

And finally for the body wash. I am actually super impressed with this product. It leaves my skin feeling silky smooth. I normally use a Bath and Body Works shower gel, which leaves the skin feeling clean but almost dry, if that makes sense? This product is so hydrating and conditioning! My skin feels amazing after use. I had no idea I was missing out on my skin feeling this great!

I highly recommend this Hilltop Gardens and the products line they offer. I cannot wait to continue my use with the items and to see the results of well pampered skin and hair.
